Getting back assignement

This morning i went and visited my supervisor who then gave me back my assignment. He said that there were still things that need to be added and corrected like a cover page as well as putting in the latest news of a car crash that happened in Dunedin just a recently involving young people. Other corrections were made to the assignment as well. Preparation of the presentation was done as we were presenting next week on the 30th of May.

Submission

This morning i finished up my assignment and after finalizing and printing it, i proceeded to bind my assignment so that after that i am able to submit it to my supervisor before the holidays. The submission of this assignment allows us to have time to plan our presentation which would last for around 20-30 minutes including questions.

Twelfth week

In this week i did my presentation on my interim report and was told that it was a good presentation which gave me confidence that what i did for my project was on par with what the supervisors had wanted. At this stage my project was two thirds finished and for my final report i am going to include an interview to the public on questions about road safety. I would need to get approval from my supervisors as to whether the questions are approved. I am also planning to ask the ministry of transport on how the speed was set up and what reasons affected the changes in speed limits in New Zealand.

Eleventh Week

This week was the beginning of our classes for the year 2014. We started the class after 3 months of summer holidays and absence. Our classes was changed from Wednesdays to Fridays. In this week's class we discussed on the progress of our assignments and what we intend to do for the rest of our assignments. We were told that we could do a research on the community by asking the general public. Things that we would ask would be related to the topic that we have chosen and also stakeholders came into play as we were required to include them into our projects.

Tenth Week

This week was the final week for presentations of our ideas for my classmates. I was there to spectate the presentation of my classmates and i can see what they were doing for their assignments as well as see what i can use in order to improve my assignment. Other than that we were discussing on what we were going to do over the summer period related to our assignments. We were also discussing on what we were required to do for our next submission which is the interim report.

Ninth Week

This week was the week that we would present our initial report to the supervisors and it is the second last week before the summer holiday began. After my initial report presentation the comments that were given by the supervisors is that i did not need to introduce a new idea to the system but instead i would just need to do something like a review on the safety standards and also driver education here in New Zealand. My initial idea was to introduce driving school training into the driving curriculum of New Zealand so that drivers would be much safer on the road as most drivers learn how to drive from people with full licenses and not from driving instructors like what we have back home in Malaysia.

Eighth Week

In this week we were discussing on the role of stakeholders, the industry and also comments.Stakeholders were people that would invest in our products and also people who would be interested that would act as potential buyers. Industry in my case would be the automotive industry and also the driving school where i plan to see how a driving school operates an how it affects driving here in New Zealand. At this stage my mind map was done so what was left was my research for my topic. I was also told by Mr. Jone that one of the lecturers in Unitec has a driving school which is good so i can look for Mr. Carl Jin and set up an appointment to go to his driving school and see how it operated.
